Tree Plantation Drive 2020 (June-Sep)

As part of one of the social initiatives, the tree plantation drive has been inaugurated on World Environment Day, June 5 2020. The team members are currently working in collboration with the local clubs/societies to promote the tree plantation drive during the rainy season in between June-September 2020. Currently, the initiative is being run in limited scale with the COVID-19 crisis still out there and the full scale drive will continue till the end of September this year as soon as the situation eases a bit.

Rules and Regulations

1. Plantation in a particular locality will be conducted within a day long process.

2. Plantation will be started from north- west corner of the particular plantation site/plot.

3. Tree guards made out of bamboo sticks must be used in each plantation site.

4. Spacing between two consecutive plants must be at least 3 m / 5 m / 10 m depending on the species for linear plantation and at least 2.5 × 2.5 m / 3 × 3 m / 5 × 5 m for block plantation.

5. A dedicated person must be appointed to look after the plantation site every week.

6. Addional survey will be conducted by Proyaas team members at an interval of 3/6 months depending on the species in a prescribed format.

7. Uprooting of weeds must be performed occasionally.

8. Plantation in disputed land/ near the electricity service area/ or any location leading to future damage road or any existing construction must be avoided strictly.

9. A two member body must be constituted by the clubs/organisations who will send status of the plantation.

10. A plantation journal / report will be published as a record of the whole process.
